BBQ Pig Shots

Ingredients

  • Main

BBQ Pig Shots are the perfect smoked appetizer—flavor-packed bites of sausage, bacon, and a creamy, spiced cheese filling, finished with a drizzle of BBQ sauce. Perfect for any backyard gathering!

Instructions

  1. 01

Wrap a half-slice of bacon around each sausage round, securing it with a toothpick to form a small "cup."

  2. 02

In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, diced jalapeño, and BBQ rub. Mix until well-incorporated and transfer to a zip-top bag. Cut a corner off the bag for piping.

  3. 03

Pipe the cream cheese filling into each bacon-wrapped sausage cup until full. Sprinkle BBQ Rub over the top of each filled pig shot and optionally add a sliced jalapeño on top

  4. 04

Preheat your Kamado Joe to 275°F for indirect cooking with your favorite smoking wood. Place the pig shots on the grill and smoke for 60 minutes, or until the bacon is rendered and crisp to your preference.

  5. 05

Drizzle a small amount of BBQ sauce over each pig shot and let them cook for an additional 5-10 minutes to set the glaze and add color.

  6. 06

Remove from the grill, let cool slightly, and serve these delicious BBQ Pig Shots as an irresistible appetizer.
