Our 100% Natural Lump Charcoal is very economical to use and costs only pennies per cook. Our charcoal has a unique benefit in that it can be relit for multiple cookings. Just shut off the air to your grill after cooking and add a small amount of fresh charcoal with the existing charcoal.
Lighting Instructions:
- Fill the fire box with 100% Natural Lump Charcoal just below the air holes to just below the top of the fire ring.
- Place 1-2 Kamado Joe Fire Starter Cubes in the charcoal so 1/4 of the cube is visible.
- Open the bottom draft door fully and keep the grill lid open.
- Light the Fire Starter Cubes, and wait 10 minutes.
- Close the lid with the top vent fully open, wait 5 minutes, then adjust air flow for your desired temperature.
Advisory: Never use lighter fluid or petroleum-based combustible fluids. It will absorb into the ceramics and impart an undesirable taste to your food.
